The midterm elections are just eight days away and conservatives and right-leaning voters must get to the polls and re-elect a Republican House majority so that Representative Jim Jordan can become the next Speaker of the House.
When Paul Ryan announced he was leaving his post as Speaker of the House, those in the establishment lamented the news and quickly coalesced around another well-known moderate, California’s Kevin McCarthy, to replace him.
Conservatives, on the other hand, rejoiced as they saw an opportunity to finally elect a true conservative to the speakership.
Conservative First is extremely proud to announce our endorsement of Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio’s 4th Congressional District to become the 55th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
Rep. Jim Jordan’s conservative bona fides have been well documented during his tenure in Congress which began in 2007. As a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus, Jordan is one of the staunchest constitutional conservatives currently serving on Capitol Hill and a vocal leader who will continue to lead the fight against the federal government’s escalating intrusion into Americans’ lives and as well as its runaway bloated budgets.
Consequently, Rep. Jim Jordan routinely scores high marks from conservative organizations and is currently the highest ranked member of the House in our own Conservative First Index scoring system.
No member of Congress reminds his fellow colleagues more about the promises the Republican Party has made and broken to the voters than Representative Jim Jordan. He and members of the House Freedom Caucus are the last stand against an even more bloated federal government and bad establishment policy.
The GOP has far too many members who call themselves fiscal conservatives but act and vote quite differently. Rep. Jordan is not afraid to call those colleagues out and hold his own party’s feet to the fire.
Representative Kevin McCarthy, should he win the speakership, would maintain the feckless “business as usual” leadership orchestrated by current Speaker Paul Ryan and before him by John Boehner while the establishment would continue to dwell inside the swamp.
We cannot let that happen.
President Reagan once called for the Republican Party to raise “a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people.”
It’s beyond time that the next Speaker of the House be someone who possesses strong leadership skills with contrasting bold ideas and vision.
Rep. Jim Jordan is that leader and the country desperately needs him to become the next Speaker of the House if we are to advance the conservative agenda set forth by President Donald J. Trump.
On Tuesday November 6th, conservatives will head to the polls not just to vote for their U.S. representative but also for which party will control Congress. Should the GOP win the necessary 218 seats in the lower chamber, we call on those members to vote for Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House come January.
