What is a political action committee (PAC) and why should you donate money to one?
This is a question often asked by people who are politically knowledgeable, but do not donate to political parties or organizations. Before discussing the benefits of donating to a PAC, it may be helpful to explain what the purpose of a PAC is versus other political organizations, such as a political party.
A PAC is an organization that is founded to connect people that are concerned about a single issue, candidate, or ideology to one another.
Conservative First is an ideological driven PAC. Our goal is to persuade voters to choose the candidates in primaries who are the most conservative and who put principle ahead of a political party, rather than just electing candidates because they are members of that party.
Political parties in the United States, historically, tend to be less concerned with a single ideology or issue; their role in the political theatre is to help raise funds and elect as many members of their respective parties as possible. Donating money to a political party is less effective than donating to a PAC because the ideas and motives of a political party are too diffused.
Donating money, time, and ideas to a PAC ensures the success of the PAC and its cause. Citizens increase their power and influence by pooling their resources together to affect change.
Conservative First is committed to promoting the most conservative candidates in each election cycle and monitoring their commitment to liberty and the Constitution. Donating to Conservative First allows us to provide the voter with the information necessary to elect the “right” people as our representatives.
