The end of an awful era in American politics is finally over as hope arrived on Friday with the swearing in of our 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
We couldn’t have imagined eight years ago that it would take this long, but the time to look forward begins now. We the people of the United States have had enough of the establishment, the media, and a progressive far-left agenda being shoved down our collective throats.
President Trump’s inauguration speech, written by himself, emphasized what has gone wrong not only the past eight years in America, but for decades. The Washington elite have seized way too much power and wealth and left the American citizens with little. Vowing to change the status quo, Trump promised to give the power back to the people.
We will be one of President Trump’s biggest supporters when he implements a strong conservative agenda and won’t be afraid to call him out when he veers off his pledge to truly restore America’s greatness.
Congratulations President Donald J. Trump. Now, let’s get to work.
The year 2020 may be far off in both real and political time, but Conservative First is always looking ahead.
And we may have found our first U.S. Senator to put on our 2020 Target List in North Carolina’s Thom Tillis.
Writing in the The Charlotte Observer, Sen. Tillis opined this week that the voters on November 8th did not give Republicans a mandate to govern during the new congressional session. He could not be more wrong.
If the voters wanted the two parties to work together, instead of one party pushing its own agenda, they would not have voted to keep the GOP in the majority in both the House and Senate. Nor would they have voted to elect Donald Trump into the White House. They would have cast their ballots for a divided government. But they didn’t and therefore voted to reverse course from the past eight years.
Sorry Senator Tillis, but one party, the one you supposedly represent, is in charge now. We don’t want you to work with the Democrats on anything.
We did not endorse Sen. Tillis during the primary nor the general election in 2014 and this week solidified our research and reasoning for that lack of support. In fact, we actively endorsed one of his primary opponents, Dr. Greg Bannon.
Sen. Tillis is yet another politician who is a member of what we call “tidal wave conservatives.” They will ride a wave of change to victory utilizing support from the conservative grassroots to get elected then reveal their true colors once in office to appease the establishment on both sides of the aisle.
Hopefully in 2020, the great citizens of North Carolina will send Sen. Thom Tillis packing. We have far too many RINOs in Congress as it is.
The Democrats must have amnesia.
Led by Senate and House Minority Leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi respectively, Democrats and their media pundits have been warning Republicans that they will “own” the repeal of Obamacare. Yes, they should own it because the people voted them back into Congress to repeal the law and send to President Trump’s desk for his signature.
And this call to repeal this disastrous law started just over six years ago when Nancy Pelosi lost her gavel as Speaker of the House because Obamacare was forced down the people’s throats with no bipartisanship support. And since its implementation, the results have been horrendous.
Remember when President Obama said this before the law was passed: “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” Or how about this one: “We will work to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family.” Anyone seen their premiums actually go down let alone by $2,500? We seriously doubt it. Premiums have skyrocketed, people cannot keep their doctors even though they liked their doctors, and the deductibles have become unaffordable to millions of families and individuals since the law’s passage.
But hopefully, help is on the way.
Senator Rand Paul said this week that his Obamacare replacement bill will be unveiled next week and it has potential to be the basis of any new replacement law. It removes the law’s mandates, allows individuals to pool together for group coverage, and will expand that coverage by allowing consumers to choose the type of plan that fits their needs. For example, the young and healthy may choose a high deductible plan that covers just catastrophic events.
The elections in 2010, 2014 and 2016, where Democrats were completely shellacked at the federal, state, and local level, were repudiations of their liberal agenda of eliminating federalism, removing the rights from the states, and overreaching on nearly every policy they implemented, including Obamacare.
Ask yourself this: how many Democrats who voted for The Affordable Care Act in 2010 are still in Congress? Look it up. Not many. By creating an over-powering centralized government, the reasons for the Democrats’ massive losses at the ballot box are not hard to figure out.
If Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and their friends in Congress and the media think that the GOP will lose in landslide-like proportions in the 2018 midterms based on the repeal of Obamacare, they are delusional.
Should the Republicans lose control of their majority in 2018, it will be because of their failure to implement a conservative, or populist, agenda that the American electorate voted for this past fall.
Final The radical left knows no bounds for destruction. Unfortunately, one Starbucks shop in Washington D.C. is finding this out the hard way..
During the inauguration celebration on Friday, rioters who could not come to grips with the fact that Donald Trump is now everyone’s new president, took to the streets to voice that anger by smashing windows and destroying public and private property.
Did these rioters not know that the CEO of Starbucks is Howard Schultz who happens to be a very big liberal who endorsed Hillary Clinton for president last fall?
We find it sad and amusing that rioters/looters upset over an election would show no loyalty to those businesses who agree with them on the principles and issues they care so deeply about.
But when it comes to being enraged at the peaceful transition of power from one party to the next, no business is immune from being a target for destruction.
