Conservative First is not afraid to endorse politicians who tend to be more libertarian than conservative and Representative Thomas Massie is one such example.

Representative Thomas Massie from Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District is the type of limited-government, free-market libertarian-conservative our republic needs in Washington D.C. and we are proud to endorse him this election cycle.

Rep. Massie is the rare example of an elected official who recognizes the negative effects that a bloated, runaway federal government has on our society. Our Founding Fathers would be proud of Thomas Massie because before he decided to run for public office, he first made his mark in the private sector. This experience provided him with the insight into the constrictive nature of government.

Once in Congress, Massie quickly garnered attention for his willingness to go against the leadership by supporting Representative Justin Amash of Michigan for the Speaker of the House position over John Boehner. This willingness to ruffle the feathers of leadership and follow his instincts accompanied by his history of voting against bills which would have increased the size of the federal government. Case in point, Rep. Massie voted against the March 2018 disastrous omnibus spending bill. These actions make Representative Massie a model for others to follow.

“Anybody that voted for the omnibus committed an appalling act.”

– Rep. Thomas Massie, March 2018

The three-term congressman is a staunch supporter of gun rights, tax reform, and school choice. In addition, Rep. Massie advocates auditing The Federal Reserve which few in Congress are willing to speak out against but should.

Conservative First is not afraid to endorse politicians who tend to be more libertarian than conservative. Senator Rand Paul and Representative Justin Amash are a couple of examples who don’t fit neatly into the traditional conservative ideological box but nonetheless are deeply committed to limited constitutional governance.

Conservative First proudly and emphatically endorses Representative Thomas Massie for Congress.
